Are they overused in today&#8217;s world? The truth is that stress in life is inevitable. The word stress is often associated with negative aspects of life. However, there are two kinds of stress: distress and eu-stress. (Eustress is a healthy form of stress that motivates and energizes you.) This blog is not talking about the stress that is associated with abuse or trauma, but about everyday stresses that build up due to home, school, college, or work, which make us feel overwhelmed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are a few ways that you can deal with everyday stress:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Understanding stress<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stress is a natural response of our body to meet changing demands and pressure. This response can affect our physical, mental, and emotional well-being.<\/p>\n<p>It is important for us to understand our body and our ways of responding to stressful events in life. Each one of us has our own way of dealing with stress. Understanding stress can help us deal with day-to-day life in a healthy way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Use exercise as a stress reliever<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sitting\u00a0too\u00a0much\u00a0is\u00a0bad\u00a0for\u00a0our\u00a0health\u00a0since\u00a0it\u00a0interferes\u00a0with\u00a0our\u00a0ability\u00a0to\u00a0work\u00a0at\u00a0a\u00a0computer,\u00a0watch\u00a0TV,\u00a0and\u00a0perform\u00a0the\u00a0myriad\u00a0other\u00a0sedentary\u00a0tasks\u00a0we\u00a0perform\u00a0throughout\u00a0the\u00a0day. Maintaining\u00a0an\u00a0active\u00a0lifestyle\u00a0can\u00a0help\u00a0your\u00a0body\u00a0manage\u00a0stress\u00a0in\u00a0many\u00a0ways. Exercise\u00a0is\u00a0thought\u00a0to\u00a0enhance\u00a0the\u00a0brain&#8217;s\u00a0synthesis\u00a0of\u00a0neurotransmitters\u00a0that\u00a0promote\u00a0relaxation,\u00a0such\u00a0as\u00a0endorphins\u00a0and dopamine. Additionally,\u00a0it\u00a0can\u00a0lower\u00a0levels\u00a0of\u00a0stress\u00a0hormones, including\u00a0cortisol\u00a0and\u00a0adrenaline. These\u00a0effects\u00a0lessen\u00a0stress\u00a0and\u00a0result\u00a0in\u00a0what\u00a0many\u00a0refer\u00a0to\u00a0as\u00a0a\u00a0&#8220;runner&#8217;s\u00a0high.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Avoid caffeine and alcohol<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your\u00a0moods\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0quality\u00a0of\u00a0your\u00a0sleep\u00a0can\u00a0be\u00a0adversely\u00a0affected\u00a0by\u00a0excessive\u00a0alcohol\u00a0and\u00a0caffeine\u00a0consumption. Research\u00a0indicates\u00a0that\u00a0alcohol\u00a0might\u00a0raise\u00a0depressive\u00a0symptoms, and\u00a0coffee\u00a0can\u00a0exacerbate\u00a0stress\u00a0and\u00a0anxiety. These\u00a0exercises\u00a0are\u00a0grounded\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0mindfulness\u00a0technique,\u00a0which\u00a0seeks\u00a0to\u00a0help\u00a0you\u00a0become\u00a0more\u00a0aware\u00a0of\u00a0your\u00a0body\u00a0by\u00a0removing\u00a0you\u00a0from\u00a0distressing\u00a0thoughts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Physical health<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Healthy eating can help strengthen your immune system and lower your blood pressure, which helps the individual cope with stress. Sleeping for 7 to 8 hours is also essential.
